 Takashimaya Department Store started in Kyoto in 1831, and opened a miscellaneous store called Takashima Store in that the founder's inlaws came from Japan's Takashima. Later, his descendants continued, and in 1919, they became quite large, and in 1919, they launched a stock company in Osaka, named Takashima.​

  And Takashima-ya, who grew stronger and stronger, set up Takashima-ya department stores in Osaka's Nankai Namba Station in 1932, and succeeds in gaining entry to key areas such as Tokyo and Yokohama the following year. The current Takashimaya is headquartered in Namba..

  In addition to Takashimaya, there are many large department stores such as Daimaru, Marui, Namba City and Namba Parks in Osaka, and Takashimaya is called the best dessert department among them by locals.

  Takashimaya has grown to the point of opening overseas stores in Hanoi, Vietnam, and has also received favorable reviews in Hanoi, Vietnam.
